David Ris  > Journalism > New Orleans Flood Damage
Nancy and I took a day to visit some of the damaged areas in New Orleans. We visited the two homes where she lived in the Uptown area. Then went to the 9th Ward area, and finally over to the Lakeview area. Whatever you have heard, whatever you have seen, believe me, it is worse than whatever image you have in your mind.

David Ris > Completely on the other side of the city, one of many homes for sale in the Lakeview Area. Water line is mid-window.
David Ris > These homes look fine, but they sat in water up to the roofline for weeks. My guess is that they should come down.
David Ris > Standing, but several weeks of sitting in water may have ruined these $500,000 homes.
